I put together a pictorial presentation of Chedoke Sanatorium area.
(I was motivated by the photo presentation, created by another resident in our community.)
To view the file you will need a plugin, you can get it by clicking this link.
Clicking here will open the link to the presentation. Once the file is open, you can view the show by ‘left clicking’ the image and selecting full screen, then click the image in the window and hopefully, it will play. (Music in the background, “Latin Quarter,” By, Mark Antoine )
Walking through Chedoke Sanatorium grounds, is stunning. Come and have a look for yourself. You will then understand why our community is upset by the indifference, and temerity of the organizations involved in this travesty.
The emotional attachment that residents have for the Chedoke Brow is intense. At a community meeting on Sept. 11, I watched an elderly couple making their way into the meeting with an uncertain and a rickety gait – their years made my half century seem absolutely youthful. Yet the Elderly lady, spoke with passion and her love for the Brow was tangible .
Her wistful plea was simple and heartfelt; that we consider the legacy of what we leave behind. It was quite moving.
OMG….This pictorial presentation took my breathe away. It is so beautiful. On the other hand, it brought tears of sorrow to my eyes thinking about the greed of some. I wonder if Edith and Cecil V. Langs would approve of this endeavour on the land they were given 1 dollar for. I don’t think so.
You are so right, some things are worth fighting for. This should be a top priority in my mind.
Thank You So Very Much!
All the pictures were taken a couple of days ago, except for the wild turkey, I snapped that photo in July.
It is a beautiful location and very photogenic.
Some of the images were not as clear as I would have liked, but we are running out of time, so I uploaded the rough cut.
We do not have any powerful friends around this issue, so as a community we must get motivated and apply some pressure on the organization that is dumping this Hamilton treasure…. for a quick buck.
Again, thank you very much, for Your compliment, you made my day.
