Thank you to the 60+ people that attended our community meeting on May 17th. During our meeting we informed the community of our progress and what we need to do from this point on. It was widely agreed that the proposed development was too intensive and had to be reformed to fit the character of the community and it was agreed that a form of limited development should take place. The City has voted for a plan of 400-450 units but the Brow lands Community Group has made it clear that the number of units should be lower. It was determined that no development was unachievable but would instead advocate for limited development. Dean lee has turned down the City’s proposal and the OMB hearing will take place on June 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th and the 16th .
The Brow Lands Community Group stressed the importance of attendance at the OMB Hearings and asked if residents could attend as many dates as possible. We also stressed that residents should get involved as much as possible to let our voice be heard. Involvement in phoning the Niagara Escarpment commission: 905.877.5191, the Hamilton Conversation Authority: 905-525-2181, Green Belt: 416-960-0001, Terry Whitehead, Your Councilor: 905.546.2779. Your voice is important and our potential allies, the City, and Dean Lee must hear them. If you have any evidence regarding any hardships that our Community may face due to Dean Lee’s proposed development or want to be involved in our fight, please contact Roy Wolker, at 905 394-1884.
Please JOIN US in PROTECTING OUR COMMUNITY and say NO to THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT.
